The spicy noodles were awesome. The everything bagel sushi was really cool. They didn't have the ramen matzah ball soup when we went which was sad, but we will be back. The best dish of the night was the Hainanese style chicken and rice. Insanely crispy skin. Awesome sauce flavor. One of the best dishes I've ever eaten
I absolutely love OY BAR!!!! Okay what an amazing place!! This spot rocks!! I also love that I got to come here in Chanukah. This spot is a Jewish / pub vibe / speak easy / dive bar?? It's so cool because it's so hard to truly describe exactly what it is. They have a full bar with signature cocktails & also plenty of amazing Japanese and Jewish fusion inspired meals. The cutest speak easy / perfect low lighting vibes with kind staff members and servers that have all the recommendations ready to go! I am obsessed with the smoked salmon bites and the the pickle tray. Everything on this menu is the best thing ever. I tried almost everything and I can't wait to come back and try it again. We had the most delicious dirty martinis & then a few bourbons. The music is a good balance and even when this place is packed, it's still a good vibe. Street parking is not too tough and it's great to have an awesome bar in the valley that serves good and unique food! I can't wait to go back to Oy bar!!
A small, intimate space with a really cool ambience that's hip and classy without trying too hard. (You know that type I'm talking about!) Oy Bar's dark, sexy ambience was really fun for a date night and the music was just the perfect volume for the space-- lively but not overpowering. The small space is well-served by an attentive wait staff and bartender. The cocktails were excellent: I stayed with a martini and they got it just right. The menu offerings are really interesting, a lovely mix of mostly smaller sharing plates and a small but well-chosen menu of main dishes. Most striking was the everything-bagel inspired salmon onigiri and pickle bento box. I remember this space's long-standing past iteration and Oy Bar is a great elevation of a Studio City classic that still manages to retain its charm. If you miss the classic Oyster House sign, look for it on the inside now.
10/10. Went with a buddy to catch up over dinner. 1. Our server, Lauren, was super helpful and fun. 2. Found street parking pretty easily, cool understated exterior. 3. Lively but not too loud, comfortable but cool inside. 4. Cocktails were excellent. Even the pineapple garnish on one of the drinks tasted like it was fresh from Hawaii. 5. The burger. It's why we went and it delivered. 6. Crudo. Super unique and fresh (was the scallops) 7. Wagyu quesadilla. Insanely good, not too heavy so you can have it as an app. 8. Smashed potato fries. Perfect. 9. An interesting and delicious everything-seasoned rice-ball with smoked salmon. 10. The cheesecake was so good we each took an extra slice home for our wives. Again, 10/10.
This place blew me away. I had no idea it existed until my daughter invited me here. What a Gem. They don't take reservations and it's pretty small with a long bar that has lots of bar seating. I recommend arriving early or you'll wait in line. The menu is unique, but filled with great options for vegans and meat eaters. Each dish was full flavors and uniquely made. For example, i've never had a chicken Parmesan like it, but it was the best one I've ever had. The service was wonderful, The door man was great and Chef Jeff is very cool. We will return
I was really impressed by this place. The menu was eclectic. The service was great, my friends only had an issue with how dimly lit it was but it's a chill vibe. I really love the spicy noodles and the Wagyu quesadilla and the potatoes were really good too, as well as the honey cake. Would definitely come back and I like that everything is shareable!
The menu updates keep begging for revisits! Cucumber Marg with Mezcal was as good as you want. Tastefully made, but I crave something more Drive Slow is a vermouth spritz with the elevation I look for! Fizzy tonic expand depth of craft vermouth giving savory complexity and effervescent lightness. Wish I could try all vermouths/amaros this way! Blue Fin Toro Sashimi - A tricky one. Fish isn't what I expected, but sauce and tomatoes combine to create special umami. Fish is more a platform than the feature Ginger Scallion Rock Fish - I screwed up! Tasted the broth first and it was so exquisitely flavorful, that's all I wanted! The fish was succulent but mild and, like the rice, I just wanted to eat the broth without anything in the way! Dumping the rice in to soak up the goodness wasn't a bad idea American Trilogy cocktail - Bartender graciously satisfied request for a "classic cocktail like a Sazarac." Boozy, rich, deep - between a Saz and an Old Fashioned. So appreciate their knowledge/skill
A hidden gem! Driving by, one would assume it is a dive. But dive in and swim with the big sharks in calm waters. Dark, quaint, and old school bar ambiance; combined with strong drinks, good food and personalized service. For appetizers, we ordered the crudo and crispy potatoes. The sauce in which the crudo bathes was silky smooth and succulant. The crispy potatoes were standard, however, the chutney sauce served with it was exceptionally falvorful and complimentary. The spicy noodz wasn't spicy but it was comforting and absolutely delicious! Add the shrimp (which is $8 more) for a complete meal. The seared scallops were perfectly prepared and seasoned; it melt in my mouth like butter. All the servers and manager were personable, professional and welcoming. New customers are treated openly and warmly. What's not to like?
